The GIANTS will have a near-full playing list to choose from as they head into the final round of the home and away season.
The only concern to come out of the weekend’s games was a minor concussion to defender Matt Buntine.
The courageous 22-year-old was playing for the WSU GIANTS in the curtain-raiser on Saturday when he suffered a minor concussion in the second quarter.
He was kept out of the remainder of the match as a precaution and will go through the standard concussion protocol this week to test his availability for selection.
If not selected for the senior side, Buntine won’t have the chance to play this weekend with the WSU GIANTS earning a bye in the first week of NEAFL finals after finishing second on the ladder.
There were no other injuries to report from the WSU GIANTS or the GIANTS’ 92-point win over Fremantle.
This sees just three players unavailable for selection for this week’s big clash against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
Adam Kennedy (concussion) and Will Hoskin-Elliott (groin) both made successful returns in the NEAFL last weekend, while Caleb Marchbank (shoulder), Paul Ahern (knee) and Jarrod Pickett (foot) have all been ruled out with season-ending injuries.
There was good news for Ahern, with the 21-year-old returning to the main training group last week after rupturing his ACL in February.
