Rebounding defender Isaac Cumming is the latest GIANT to put pen to paper on a contract extension.

The 22-year old has signed a two year contract extension that will see him remain at the club until at least the end of 2022.

The Broken Hill product has come through the GIANTS Academy to play 10 games across the last three seasons and is one of a number of young GIANTS expected to take the next step in 2021.

Cumming started the 2020 campaign in the AFL side off the back of a strong pre-season however was struck down with a serious hamstring injury that curtailed his impact on the abridged season.

General Manager Football Jason McCartney said Cumming’s signature was an important one for the club.

“Isaac had a frustrating 2020 campaign but carried himself really well throughout and we’re delighted to have him locked away,” said McCartney.

“Isaac has great foot skills, elite speed and a good leap which we think will see him play a valuable role for us in the years to come.”

Cumming said he was looking forward to the next chapter in his journey.

“I’m really happy to re-sign with the GIANTS. We’re a tight group and I’m confident we can bounce back after a challenging year,” said Cumming.

“Personally, I’ve been in and out of the team in recent years and am focussed on having a strong pre-season and playing a bigger role in 2021.”

Cumming’s re-signing comes hot on the heels of fellow NSW originals Harry Perryman and Jeremy Finlayson who also signed contract extensions recently.
