Aidan Corr will be sidelined after injuring his ankle in the loss to the Crows on Tuesday night.
He went over on his ankle in the third quarter and was unable to play out the match.
“He sprained his ankle,” GIANTS Head of Medical Cullan Ball said.
“It was obviously sore enough that he wasn’t able to complete the game.
"He’s still pretty sore so he’s unlikely to play on Saturday and after that we’ll take him day by day and see how quickly he progresses.”
Zac Williams (achilles) and Josh Kelly (concussion) are both available for Saturday’s match.
“Zac was a bit sore leading into the Adelaide game but he’s recovered well now and we expect him to be available for the Melbourne game,” Ball said.
“Josh has progressed through the concussion protocols and is cleared from our perspective so he’ll be available to play as well.”
Three players face fitness tests with Brent Daniels (hamstring), Harry Perryman (calf) and Callan Ward (finger) to all train on Friday morning in a bid to play.
“We’ve got training tomorrow,” Ball said.
“We expect all three to train and stick their hand up and if they’re good in that session, hopefully they’ll be available for selection.”
As announced on Wednesday, former skipper Phil Davis has returned home after scans revealed a long period of rest would be required to recover from bone bruising in his right knee.
The 22 for Saturday’s match will be named at 6:20pm on Friday.
