Jeremy Cameron has been cleared to take on Carlton at GIANTS Stadium on Sunday afternoon while Lachie Whitfield and Shane Mumford face fitness tests.

The star forward has recovered well from another knock to his left shoulder in Sunday’s loss to the Hawks and is set to take on the Blues.

"He pulled up better than he did last week, actually,” General Manager of Football Wayne Campbell said.

“He was pushed into the fence but didn’t hit the same spot so we thought he might be a bit sore. 

“He bravely played on but has pulled up even better than he did last week so he’ll be right to go.”

Midfield jet Whitfield is set to return from two weeks on the sidelines with a corked quad and sore hip.

“He looks like he’ll get up and play,” Campbell said.

“He trained over the weekend and has trained fully now for a couple of sessions.

"He just felt it a little bit towards the back end of the main session last week so we decided to be conservative with him and not play him.

“At this stage of the week, if he gets through everything he’ll play the Blues on Sunday.”

Ruckman Mumford should also be cleared to take on Blues after his knee flared up enough to miss the Hawks loss.

“It looks like he’ll play,” Campbell said.

“He needs to get going and train this week but the week off has been good for his knee but also good for his whole body given he played five games in a row for the first time in 12 months. 

“At this stage he looks like he’ll be ready for selection.”

Defender Aidan Corr will miss this week’s clash but is on track for a likely return next week with his ankle injury - similar to the one suffered by co-captain Phil Davis - sustained in round seven.

“He probably won’t play this weekend but at this stage is probably tracking ahead of where Phil’s was at this same stage and Phil played after two weeks,” Campbell said.

“At this stage he won’t play this weekend but will play the following weekend in Melbourne.”

The GIANTS take on the Blues at GIANTS Stadium on Sunday at 4:40pm.
