Greater Western Sydney GIANTS player and number one draft pick Jonathon Patton is on his way back to Australia after undergoing successful treatment to his knee in Sweden.
Patton visited leading tendon specialist Dr Hakan Alfredson who performed a surgical procedure to treat patellar tendinopathy in his left knee.
General Manager Football Operations Graeme Allan said the procedure had been successful and Patton would now undergo rehabilitation before resuming training on a modified program.
“We want to give all our players, including our draftees, every chance to fulfill their potential and we are pleased that we sent Jonathon to Sweden and he underwent this procedure,” Allan said.
“While we won’t do anything to rush him or jeopardize his long term future, we remain confident that he will be able to resume full training in early April and be available for selection in May.”
