The young GIANTS players are working hard in the gym as they prepare for the physical rigours of the upcoming AFL season.

The GIANTS will play their first NAB cup matches against Collingwood and the Western Bulldogs at Blacktown International Sportspark on February 18.

GIANTS strength and conditioning coach, Lachlan Wilmot said the players were spending plenty of the time in the gym to help them to prepare for the massive physical challenges that lay ahead.

“At the moment for pre season the boys are starting to hone in on more dynamic things in preparation for playing games,” Wilmot said.

“Weights, like a lot of things that they do, are done in their field groups. We have forwards, midfielders and backs and at the moment our new draftees are in their own group. Obviously with the new boys it takes a little more time to educate them.”
