Collingwood president Eddie McGuire has described Kevin Sheedy as a “superstar” and “legend of the game” on the eve of the Greater Western Sydney GIANTS coach’s 1000th match.
McGuire spoke to GIANTS TV from London, where he is covering the Olympics.
WATCH MCGUIRE'S TRIBUTE:
“When we talk about legends of the game, Kevin Sheedy fits the bill in no uncertain terms.
“He has been a constant through my entire time in the sport.
“Kevin, on behalf of the Collingwood Football Club, but also the supporters, the people who actually fall in love with the game – not the players, not the coaches but the people who actually love our game so much.
“It’s the thing that really lifted my heart as a kid and made me feel part of my community.
“Kevin, you’ve played an amazing role and we salute you in your 1000th appearance. Congratulations Sheeds.”
