GIANT Harry Perryman remains in strong contention to take out the inaugural Carey-Bunton Medal as the best NSW player in the AFL after six rounds.

Collingullie product Perryman sits in second place with Gold Coast’s Jarrod Witts on 18 votes, just one vote behind Sydney’s Isaac Heeney who has unfortunately ruled out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

Culcairn’s Jeremy Finlayson sits in equal ninth spot with three votes while fellow GIANTS Academy graduates Jacob Hopper and Harry Himmelberg sit just outside the top ten.

Lachie Whitfield was the only GIANTS to received AFL Coaches votes, which this award is based on, in round six.

If either Perryman or Witts who both play in Sydney this Saturday could see a new leader in the Carey-Bunton Medal by the end of the round.
