Brogan Returns
Greater Western Sydney GIANTS ruckman Dean Brogan will return to the side to take on the Adelaide Crows at ŠKODA Stadium on Sunday.
Brogan has missed the last three games due to suspension, and is one of five players to come into the GIANTS 25-man squad.
Lachie Whitfield has been named on the wing after missing the match against Essendon with soreness, and Adam Kennedy has overcome illness.
Sam Darley and Shaun Edwards have also been named on an extended interchange bench and could play their first games for the season.
Curtly Hampton and Tomas Bugg have been omitted.
GIANTS Head Coach Kevin Sheedy says having Brogan return to the line-up will be a big boost.
“Dean Brogan was in good form earlier in the season, and it’s great to regain his experience and add some support for Jon Giles in the ruck,” said Sheedy.
“Lachie Whitfield is refreshed after a week out of the side and will provide plenty of run, as will Adam Kennedy.”
Sunday’s match against the Crows will be the first game played at Skoda Stadium this season.
“It’s great to be playing at a world class venue like ŠKODA Stadium, especially on Mothers Day so I hope we get a good crowd and lots of fans bring their mums to the game,” said Sheedy.
“We played our best ever first half last week against Essendon and if we can sustain that effort for four quarters against Adelaide, we’re a chance of bringing up our first win of the season,” he said.
