The UWS GIANTS have completed their pre-season with a 75 point victory over Sydney Uni at Gipps Rd Oval.

The UWS GIANTS fielded a strong team with several players on the verge of AFL selection leading the way in the dominant win.

UWS GIANTS coach Brett Hand said it was the perfect way to finalise preparations for the NEAFL season. “It was good to get some good game time into players that are pushing for round one,” he said.

“Rhys Palmer, Anthony Miles, Sam Darley and Nathan Wilson all had really good games and played some really good footy. The boys impressed in the areas we had asked them to work hard on. Anthony Miles and Rhys Palmer won the hard ball and spread well.”

Palmer led the way kicking five goals, while Wilson kicked four goals and Setanta O’hAilpin three. Sam Darley and Jacob Townsend were also prominent for the UWS GIANTS.

Six players from the Slater & Gordon GIANTS Academy took to the field and held their own against more experienced opponents.

After a bye in round one, the UWS GIANTS get their NEAFL season underway against the Sydney Swans on March 30th, at ANZ Stadium.
