The Greater Western Sydney GIANTS have launched their advertising campaign for the forthcoming Battle of the Bridge, Sydney Derby V, against the Swans at Spotless Stadium on March 15.

It features the GIANTS 2013 All-Australian full forward Jeremy Cameron and Swans star forward Buddy Franklin who is set to make his Sydney debut in the opening round of the 2014 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

A TV commercial promoting the Sydney Derby will begin screening on Channel 7, 7Mate and Foxtel this Sunday night.

GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews said it was a further example of collaboration between the clubs to promote the game in Sydney.

“The Swans have been in Sydney for more than 30 years and are a strong, established club that has achieved tremendous success on and off the field and we want to continue to collaborate with them off-field to grow the game and on-field to grow the rivalry,” he said.

"This is one of the biggest AFL games in Sydney this year and we are aiming for a sell out so we urge fans to buy their tickets now and secure a seat. The Sydney Derbies are going to become big events regardless of ladder position.

"Key forwards provide great entertainment and we have the All-Australian full forward in Jeremy Cameron, whilst AFL fans in Sydney will get to see Lance Franklin up close - just two reasons why this is a game you have to be at.

"Former Swans premiership ruckman Shane Mumford is also set to play his first game for the GIANTS against his old side, while our other star recruit Heath Shaw will go to head to head with his brother Rhyce."

It will also be the first time the GIANTS have played the Swans at their home ground, Spotless Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park (formerly known as Skoda Stadium).

"To be able to move away from ANZ Stadium and play at our home ground which was voted by fans as the number one stadium in the AFL is an added attraction," Matthews said.

"We think the 4.40pm timeslot on Saturday also works well for families and we can't wait to see a packed stadium to kick off the 2014 season."
