GIANTS forward Jeremy Cameron will undergo surgery on his ankle and miss the rest of the season.
General Manager Football Graeme Allan said Cameron would have surgery immediately and was expected to be ready to start pre-season training in November.
"Unfortunately Jeremy has had an injury interrupted season, firstly with his right ankle, a perforated eardrum and then his left ankle which he injured against Brisbane," Allan said.
"We have now received medical advice that he needs to undergo surgery on his left ankle. He will then undergo rehab and be ready to start pre-season training and look forward to 2015."
Cameron said it ended what had been a frustrating season. "It's going to be lot better for me to get it done rather than try to play out the year and I could slowly but surely injure it more," he said.
Cameron, 21, has played 14 games this year and kicked 29 goals. He has played a total of 51 games for the GIANTS and kicked 120 goals since making his AFL debut in 2012.
He was named full forward in the 2013 All-Australian team and finished third in the Coleman Medal with 62 goals.
