Vice-captain Heath Shaw will undergo further assessment this week following a heavy collision against the Swans in Round 15.

Shaw missed the GIANTS match against Adelaide at Spotless Stadium and a decision on his availability for Sunday’s match against Fremantle in Perth will be made later in the week.

Meanwhile rookie listed midfielder Sam Schulz will miss six weeks due to a rib injury suffered playing for the UWS GIANTS in the NEAFL on Saturday.

Schulz had been in good form since returning from a shoulder injury in May.

Defenders Stephen Gilham (hand) and Curtly Hampton (shoulder) are on track to return to the field in the month, while Aidan Corr (shoulder) and Nick Haynes (foot) remain sidelined for extended periods.

In good news for the GIANTS, runner Simon Katich could return to the field this weekend after being sidelined for three weeks with a calf injury.
