The GIANTS have finalised their team with five changes to the side which played Adelaide last weekend.
Lobb replaces forward Jonathon Patton who will miss his first match of the season with a groin injury.
Defensive duo Lachie Plowman and Matt Buntine return to the side with midfielders Jacob Townsend and Jono O'Rourke also included.
Coach Leon Cameron said all five players deserved their chance.
“These guys have been playing consistent footy for seven or eight weeks and just waiting for their opportunity," he said.
Adam Treloar (groin) and Stephen Coniglio (thumb) are also out of the side with injury while defenders Sam Frost and Kristian Jaksch have been omitted.
The GIANTS take on Fremantle at Patersons Stadium in Perth at 4.40pm (AEST) on Sunday in a big test for the young group.
“The enthusiasm from the group this week at training has been great,” Cameron said.
“It’s a huge task against Fremantle. We understand they’re a top four side, they’ve won seven in a row, but we’re really looking forward to testing ourselves for 120 minutes of footy against them.
The GIANTS will be holding an open training session at Patersons Stadium from 11am on Saturday with entry though Gate 8.
