Number one draft pick Tom Boyd will make his debut for the GIANTS against the Adelaide Crows at Blacktown International Sportspark this Friday.
Boyd has been elevated to the senior team for the final practice match of 2014 after kicking three goals for the UWS GIANTS against an ACT Under-23 side in Canberra last weekend.
Boyd will join 2013 All Australian and Kevin Sheedy Medallist Jeremy Cameron and another number one draft pick Jonathon Patton in the GIANTS forward line.
Two other former number one draft picks, midfielders Tom Scully and Lachie Whitfield, return to the side after both missed the GIANTS’ impressive 68-point with over St Kilda in last week’s NAB Challenge match at Wagga Wagga.
Aidan Corr, Zac Williams and Andrew Phillips will will play their first games for the GIANTS in 2014 with Josh Hunt, Shane Mumford, Adam Treloar, Jacob Townsend, and Lachie Plowman all missing from the 27-man squad.
Number two draft pick Josh Kelly, who picked up 23 touches in a classy debut against the Saints, will play his second match for the GIANTS.
The match starts at 2pm and entry is free. It will be live streamed at gwsgiants.com.au with a full replay to be available on the website shortly after the game has finished.
There will be a free BBQ, the GIANTS fan zone, merchandise and membership tents and a special appearance by GIANTS mascot G-Man.
Players not taking part in the match will be available to meet fans from 1pm to 2pm at the ground.
