Ruckman Shane Mumford will play his first match since Round 3 while All Australian forward Jeremy Cameron also returns after missing the Round 8 game against West Coast.
Midfielder Adam Treloar and defender Curtly Hampton have also been recalled after missing one match each through injury. Midfielder Jacob Townsend, forward Dylan Addison and defender Stephen Gilham have been included after strong performances in the NEAFL.
Defender Nick Haynes is out of the side following ankle surgery, while midfielder Toby Greene will miss the next five weeks due to a club suspension.
Ruckman Andrew Phillips, forward Jed Lamb and defenders Sam Frost, Matt Buntine and Josh Hunt have been omitted.
Coach Leon Cameron has welcomed the return of Mumford to the side after five weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury.
“It’s great to have Shane Mumford back in the side after five weeks. We’ve missed his aggression and ruck work while he’s been out of the side,” Cameron said.
“Stephen Gilham comes in for his first game of the year and it’s great to see that sort of experience in the backline.
“It’s obviously great to have Jeremy Cameron, Adam Treloar and Curtly Hampton back in, who’ve been regulars this year.
“It’s going to be a really tough game (against Richmond). Their backs are against the wall after their performance against Melbourne.
“It’s been well documented but all we can worry about is what we can do.
“We were really disappointing against the Eagles two weeks ago and it’s been a long wait of about 10 or 12 days since we’ve played so we’re really itching to get back out there and we’re looking forward to getting out onto Spotless Stadium."
The GIANTS play Richmond at Spotless Stadium on Saturday at 1.40pm.
