Before Jeremy Cameron was a GIANT he would run around the family house and play football in the corridors with chocolate Easter-eggs.
The tall-forward, who has played 37 games for the GIANTS and kicked 91 goals, grew up in the small country town of Dartmoor in southwest Victoria.
Cameron said he had a reputation for spitting the dummy as a toddler.
“I was a little terror who would never stop crying which was probably a bit hard on mum and dad at times,” Cameron said.
“I didn’t start playing footy competitively until I was a teenager but I remember when I was three I got given a chocolate footy for Easter and booted it into a wall.
“It smashed everywhere and I burst into tears as usual.”
“I started playing Auskick when I was six and got my first actual footy then, as you can imagine it wore out pretty quick.”
Cameron was recruited by the GIANTS in 2011 as a 17-year-old access selection.
He played senior football at the Dartmoor Football Club as a 16-year-old before representing North Ballarat in the TAC Cup.
‘Before they were GIANTS’ is a series of stories that showcase the lives of players before they became professional footballers.
