Open Letter To Fans
Chief Executive Officer David Matthews has penned an open letter to GIANTS fans after Saturday's loss to Richmond at Spotless Stadium.
It was a very disappointing performance against Richmond. As our coach Leon Cameron said after the game, we let you down. Make no mistake. Saturday's 113-point loss and the 111-point loss to the West Coast Eagles are unacceptable and we will continue to review all aspects of our operations to improve performance.
We believe we are making progress as our wins against the Swans and Melbourne earlier this season showed. But our last two matches highlight that we still have a lot of work to do to bridge the gap between our best and worst.
After Saturday’s game, many fans stayed on for some great entertainment from the GIANTS Extreme Team featuring the Crusty Demons, kick-to-kick and a signing session with our players. We pride ourselves on providing family entertainment and the post-match atmosphere was fantastic.
We are working hard in the communities of Western Sydney and Canberra to build a great club. One you can be proud of on and off the field.
We not only have great fans but corporate and community partners who have invested in this club because they want to be part of this exciting journey.
We know we have a young developing side that will have its ups and downs. But you should not have to accept uncompetitive performances. And neither will we.
We have 13 games to go this year including six in Sydney and one in Canberra. We are determined to repay the faith you have shown in the GIANTS.
