2015 Games: 8 AFL/ 4 NEAFL
AFL Fantasy Average: 65
Awards:

Background: Adam Tomlinson was selected by the GIANTS with pick 9 in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft. He made his debut in round 1, 2012 v Swans.

Best Game: Round 15 v St Kilda - 13 touches, 5 marks, 3 tackles keeping Nick Riewoldt to one goal.

Summary: It was a frustrating year for Tomlinson who ruptured a toe ligament in the round two match against Melbourne and never quite got going after a three-month lay off. He came into the season having won the 3km time trial for the first time and off the back of a career-best 2014. After just one game back in the NEAFL from injury, Tomlinson was handed the job on Nick Riewoldt in round 15 and it was a superb effort. Undoubtedly his highlight of the year, the 193cm GIANT kept the Saints’ captain to just one goal in a key defensive role at centre half-back. After four games he was sent back to the NEAFL and would finish the year adding just eight AFL games to his tally.

Pat On The Back: 2015 may not have gone to plan on the field but off the field Tomlinson found a new role on GIANTS TV, teaming up with fellow Adam (Kennedy) for A-Squared and even donning the GIANTS’ Ugly Sweater for a modelling shoot.

What They Said: “We asked him early in the week, he put his hand up straight away. He was really confident going into the game and performed really well.” - Backline Coach Chad Cornes on Tomlinson’s unusual role as a key defender on Riewoldt in round 15.

Look Ahead: Despite persistent rumours during the trade period that the big man would be leaving the club, Tomlinson heads into 2016 very much a GIANT and ready to cement his spot in the 22. After an excellent 2014, he would no doubt be frustrated by this season and ready for a big 2016. A versatile running machine, it’s just about finding Tomlinson’s best position in the senior team.
