With a nod to Humans of New York, we meet some of our diehard GIANTS supporters as part of #MembersWeek
CHASE STANTON
Campbelltown
(With some help from his mum, Christine Wardale)
My name is Chase and I'm eight years old. I've been barracking for the GIANTS since I was four. Most of my family barracks for the Swans. But I saw the GIANTS on TV one day and decided they would be my team. I liked the colours, I like orange. Now my mum loves them too.
My favourite players are Stephen Coniglio and Jeremy Cameron. I don't know why I like them the best - I just do! I've got to meet Jezza four times, but I haven't met Cogs yet. I have lots of signatures on my footy jumper. The players are all really nice to me.
We go to games all the time. The first game I saw was against the Swans and the GIANTS won. I go to games with my mum, my two aunties, my grandma, nanny and grandpa. My aunties play footy too. I have a flag which I wave when we kick goals.
Last year my mum and I went to Melbourne for the two finals. We went down on the train. It was good fun! It was a big trip but we were just slept a lot. We went to see the players train and we went to the parade as well. I think the GIANTS will win the grand final next time.
When I was four I started going to Auskick. That was before I saw the GIANTS play. This year I'm going to play for Ingleburn Magpies. I play all over. I'm a good player. My favourite bit is kicking goals. I've taken a few big marks.
I miss footy at the moment. All my sport got cancelled but my mum takes me to the park or comes into the backyard and we kick the ball around.
I miss seeing the GIANTS play too. I hope we get to see them again soon.
