Unrestricted free agent Adam Tomlinson has joined the Melbourne Demons on Monday.
On Friday, Tomlinson announced he would exercise his free-agency rights after eight seasons at the GIANTS.
As compensation the GIANTS will receive an end of second round selection, which is currently pick 40 on the provisional draft selection order.
The 26-year-old has been an integral part of the GIANTS, having played 140 games since debuting in the club’s first-ever game in round one, 2012.
Tomlinson has also had a profound impact off the field, having built a number of strong connections across the Western Sydney community, especially through his role as an ambassador for Ronald McDonald House at Westmead.

Thanks for all the laughs (and good to see you're not still bitter about @AdamKennedy40's "wins", @adamtomlinson20 )
GIANTS General Manager of Football Wayne Campbell paid tribute to Tomlinson.
“Adam is a much loved member of the club and the relationships he’s built with players, staff and members will continue for years to come.
“His versatility on the field has been a huge asset to the side and his willingness to put others first both on and off the field is a characteristic that will stand him in good stead for the future.
“Despite pulling on a different jumper next year, Adam and his family will always be a much-loved part of the GIANTS family.”
The GIANTS currently hold selections 12, 18, 40, 60, 80, 94 in the 2019 NAB AFL Draft.
