Dear Parents, Players and Staff,
With the COVID-19 situation changing at a rapid and unpredictable pace, we wanted to update you on our response.
As of today, all training and matches within all GIANTS Academy programs have been suspended.
We apologise for the late notice, but this means there will be no training sessions this afternoon.
As per the AFL statement below we will endeavour to update you as soon as possible in regard to program content moving forward.
“The AFL wishes to advise that following a meeting with state CEO’s a collective decision has been made to postpone the operation and or the commencement of each premier state league and national and state talent program across the country.
The decision is effective until May 31.
The AFL will continue to explore all fixturing alternatives to ensure matches are played, however, acknowledges the situation is fluid and any decision made may change.”
Should the AFL bring forward their effective until date, we will be in a position to resume our training programs on Monday April 27th. We will keep all stakeholders well informed as we receive advice from health authorities and the AFL.
There will be further information to come on Matches in the NAB League, U16s Academy Series, National Championships and Regional Challenge matches.
