Young GIANTS forward Jeremy Cameron is in contention to win the Coleman Medal in just his second year of AFL football.
With two games to go, 20 year-old Cameron is equal top of the league goal kicking with 60 goals alongside West Coast's Josh Kennedy and Hawthorn's Jarryd Roughead.
In a remarkable year, Cameron has kicked 38 of his goals against top eight sides, the most of any player in the competition. The next highest is Josh Kennedy with 28.
This is despite the GIANTS having the lowest number of inside 50s of any team in the AFL. He also kicked a club record of seven goals against Collingwood at the MCG in round 18.
A selfless Kennedy recently told AFL.com.au he would rather see the honour go to Greater Western Sydney's Jeremy Cameron.
The Eagle, who is a strong contender for his first All Australian honour, said he would prefer to see the exciting young Giant prevail.
"I would love him to win it," Kennedy said.
"He's a superstar. He's 20 years old. He's in a team that's developing. He's a player that's getting the best backman every week.
"His year has been exceptional and he's been great to watch."
Many good judges believe that Cameron will also be in contention for All-Australian selection at the end of the home and away season.
Be at ŠKODA Stadium this Sunday when the GIANTS play Richmond and see if Cameron can take the outright lead in the Coleman Medal.
