The GIANTS will spread their Australia Post AFL Community Camps across both Western Sydney and Canberra in February.
It’ll be the club’s fifth Australia Post AFL Community Camp in Canberra, while Western Sydney visits will be included for the first time. Visits will also be made to Wagga Wagga, Griffith and Broken Hill as part of the Camp.
The Western Sydney visits will take place on February 18 while the GIANTS will spread throughout the ACT and the rest of NSW the following week.
The Australia Post AFL Community Camp in Canberra will be on Friday February 26, the day after the GIANTS' first NAB Challenge match at StarTrack Oval Canberra on Thursday February 25.
GIANTS players will visit schools, hospitals and local football clubs as part of the camp which will see more than 750 AFL players visit communities across Australia.
GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews said the GIANTS were looking forward to visiting these areas ahead of the 2016 season
“It’s terrific to include Western Sydney in our Community Camp as well as continuing to take in Canberra and the regional areas of NSW,” said Mr Matthews.
“We’ve seen crowd numbers and participation rates of people playing our game in Western Sydney increase sharply in recent years so it’s great to be able to give back to them ahead of the season.
“We had a fantastic 2015 in Canberra with our first sell-out crowd at StarTrack Oval as well as back to back wins to start the season.
“We have an outstanding fixture in the ACT next season with Richmond playing there for the first time and Geelong and Port Adelaide returning to Canberra.
“Our players really enjoy these community camps and it’s a great way to get know the fans in our region we continue to grow the game across NSW and the ACT."
