Exciting defender Nathan Wilson has re-signed with the GIANTS for another three years, with the West Australian to remain at the club until at least the end of 2018.
Out of contract at the end of this year, Wilson had his best season yet in 2015, playing 13 games to take his career tally to 32.
Wilson was pre-listed by the GIANTS as a 17-year-old in 2010, moving to Sydney and playing for the GIANTS in the NEAFL alongside the likes of Jeremy Cameron and Dylan Shiel.
Wilson said he was excited for his future at the GIANTS.
“I’ve loved my time here at the GIANTS and this is where I want to be playing my football,” Wilson said.
“I’ve been here for over five years now and the club, and Sydney, are home.
“This season has been my best yet and I just want to keep improving. Under Leon Cameron we all know there are exciting things to come and I want to be a part of it.”
Wilson adds his name to a long list of GIANTS to re-commit this year including Jeremy Cameron, Dylan Shiel, Devon Smith, Stephen Coniglio, Phil Davis, Will Hoskin-Elliott, Matt Buntine, Aidan Corr, Zac Williams and Rhys Palmer.
GIANTS Chief Executive David Matthews welcomed Wilson’s commitment.
“As one of our original players, we’re proud to have Nathan re-sign with the club,” Matthews said.
“This season has been our best yet, both on and off the field, and Nathan adds his name to a long list of players who can see what this club is building.”
Coach Leon Cameron said he was pleased to retain the speedy half-back.
“2015 has been a great year for Nathan and we’re excited for what he adds to our team with his speed and skills,” Cameron said.
“He’s a quality person and we’re thrilled to have him here for another three years.”
