LAST WEEK

In an engrossing contest at the MCG, the GIANTS went down to the Tigers by nine points.

Richmond are a restrictive team when it comes to Fantasy points. Just Ryan Griffen (110) and Heath Shaw (102) managed to crack the ton.

Griffen enjoyed a role playing in defence. If this keeps up, we may see the midfielder add DEF status when the next position adjustments are awarded prior to round 18. At $418,000, he may even be worth bringing in now anticipating the DPP addition as his breakeven is just 39.

Shaw is in some great form at the moment, averaging 111 from his last five matches and reaching his season-high price of $532,000.

TOP 5 SCORERS V RICHMOND

  • 110 – Ryan Griffen (MID, $418,000)
  • 102 – Heath Shaw (DEF, $532,000)
  • 97 – Toby Greene (FWD/MID, $462,000)
  • 94 – Dylan Shiel (MID, $484,000)
  • 92 – Adam Treloar (MID, $570,000)

ON THE RADAR

Playing his first game for the year, Tom Downie saw a $13,000 price rise off the back of his 52. He has been given an opportunity and he would be the man to bring in for bench cover in the ruck. Downie’s breakeven is just 3.

Jack Steele is now two games into his AFL career and has enjoyed a $45,000 price increase over the first fortnight. He might be getting a little expensive to call a downgrade, but you make $9K to go from Cam McCarthy to him. There is still plenty of upside in Steele while McCarthy has reached his peak.

We saw a couple of big numbers in the huge NEAFL on the weekend. Jake Barrett had 43 touches and 180 points while Josh Kelly found the ball 42 times for a whopping 169.

WHAT’S COMING UP

The GIANTS host the Saints this weekend and will be hoping for the four points just like in round one this year.

Adam Treloar (119) and Lachie Whitfield (114) were busy in the midfield racking up 32 and 31 disposals respectively.
