Before the GIANTS head west for this week’s big clash, check out some of the key stats which could influence the game between the GIANTS and the Dockers.

Though Fremantle may be winless, recent stats show their ladder position doesn’t necessarily reflect where the team is at.

Four out of their six games have had ‘above average’ forward pressure and despite their 0-6 record, when they get it inside 50 they score 51 per cent of the time which is seventh in the AFL.

They’re also number one for kicks inside 50 going to the corridor with 43 per cent.

Over the past month, Fremantle have been the hardest side to score against from stoppages and since round three they’ve recorded the third best tackling efficiency in the league.

Before Aaron Sandilands went down injured, the Dockers were +12 in hit outs but have dropped to -29 in the past three games he’s missed.

Sandilands dominated against the GIANTS the last time the sides played. He collected 21 disposals, 43 hit-outs and three Brownlow votes. Michael Walters kicked four goals. For the GIANTS, Heath Shaw had 31 disposals and 13 marks.

It will be a contest between one of the highest-scoring sides this season and one of the lowest.

The GIANTS are ranked third for scoring with 111 points per game while the Dockers are 16th with only 71 points per game.

The GIANTS are a strong kicking side, ranked second in the AFL for kicks per game with 217.2. They are also ranked fourth for uncontested possessions. Fremantle is ranked 17th for disposals per game.

The GIANTS' overall record in Perth is poor. They have played six games at Domain Stadium for six losses, five by more than 70 points, including two by three figures. Their average score in Perth is just 52 points.

Fremantle won its first three games against the GIANTS by an average margin of 95 points with the GIANTS yet to kick more than nine goals against the Dockers.

The last time these two sides met it was a much smaller margin with the GIANTS going down by just 21 points to the eventual minor premiers.

Fremantle are yet to face the GIANTS in Sydney. That will change later this year when the Dockers travel to Spotless Stadium for the first time in round 22.

The GIANTS will take on the Dockers at Domain Stadium on Saturday night at 8.10pm AEST (6.10pm Perth time). They’ll hold an open training session at the stadium on Friday afternoon with gates open from 3.30pm with all members and fans welcome to attend.
