Kelly Lysaght left the prestigious third orange ticket sitting dormant in her GIANTS membership pack for over a week.
In fact, the primary school teacher from Moorebank almost missed out on finding the money-can’t-buy experience altogether.
After raiding her husband’s pack to steal his GIANTS lanyard, Kelly neglected to open her own package which arrived a few days later.
It wasn’t until the following week that she decided to pour through the contents and finally discovered a prized orange ticket.
“We’d been away on holidays and when I got home I thought I’d open his to grab the lanyard out to use at school,” Kelly said.
“When I finally got around to opening my pack, I found the orange ticket but had no idea what it was!”
Five orange tickets were hidden in 2016 membership packs sent out all across the country with some amazing prizes to be redeemed. Kelly has won dinner for her and five friends with GIANTS players and coaches.
“I don’t really know much about the game so maybe this is a chance to find out!,” Kelly said.
“It’s pretty daunting and I have no clue so maybe they can teach me about what they do.”
Her husband Robert will be hoping to get an invite after being the one who introduced Kelly to the game.
“He became interested in the GIANTS so I bought him a membership last year as a present. We went along to a heap of games with our daughter Sophie and it was such a nice day out,” she said.
“We even went down to Canberra to watch a game and it was freezing and we lost but it was still a great day. When it came to Christmas this year, he’d bought me my own membership!
“The big thing for us is that it’s such a family-friendly atmosphere, so accessible for babies and families and we always feel safe.”
Three orange tickets have been found with two still up for grabs. The only one to be in the draw is to get on board and become a 2016 GIANTS member!
