The UWS GIANTS have moved to top spot on the NEAFL ladder with a thumping 127-point win over Brisbane Reserves at Spotless Stadium.
Jed Lamb pressed his claim for a senior recall with six goals, including five in the first half. Jacob Townsend, Tim Golds and Lachie Plowman were also dominant.
“Jed really knows how to find goals which is dangerous for opposition sides,” UWS GIANTS coach Brett Hand said. “He’s been focusing really hard on his work-rate and tackling pressure so it’s good to see him finishing off games.
“We’re really pleased with how he’s travelling and he had another outstanding match which will hopefully hold him in good stead moving forward.”
Other multiple goal-kickers included Sam Reid and Dylan Addison with three apiece, while Tom Boyd, Jake Barrett, Sam Schulz, James Stewart and Cameron McCarthy each booted two.
The UWS GIANTS face bottom of the ladder Gold Coast Reserves next Sunday at Blacktown International Sportspark but Hand said his side would not go into the match complacent.
“The players will just be focused on performing their roles, winning the one-on-one contests and doing their job for the team. It doesn’t matter who we play, those things won’t change and we look forward to another big match.”
