Midfielder Tom Scully has again smashed the 3km time trial as the GIANTS returned to Tom Wills Oval on Saturday for their first training session of 2017.
Scully led from start to finish in the GIANTS’ first run after the Christmas break, finishing over half a lap ahead of Adam Tomlinson and Tendai Mzungu.
It’s the second time this pre-season that Scully has finished first in the 3km time trial after blitzing the competition in early December 2016.
Saturday’s time trial was the first the entire playing group has completed this pre-season, after a staggered start saw 1-4 year players return in November and the remaining players return in early December.
Tomlinson and new recruit Mzungu again impressed in their efforts, with the latter again showing off his athletic capabilities at his new club.
Josh Kelly improved on his December efforts, finishing the time trial in fourth place after coming in seventh in his previous run.
The GIANTS’ top draft pick Tim Taranto was outstanding in his first time trial at the club, with the talented midfielder finishing ahead of a host of experienced team mates in fifth place.
