GIANTS forward Toby Greene has been charged with striking by the Match Review Panel and offered a two match ban, with an early guilty plea.
Greene was reported by the field umpire during the GIANTS’ win over the Western Bulldogs at UNSW Canberra Oval on Friday night.
The Match Review Panel subsequently charged Greene with striking Bulldog Caleb Daniel.
Based on the available video evidence and a medical report from the Western Bulldogs, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct with medium impact to the head.
The incident was classified as a three-match sanction. With no applicable record which impacts the penalty, Greene was offered a two match sanction with an early guilty plea.
The reigning Kevin Sheedy Medallist, Greene has played every game this season, kicking 20 goals in six games.
Should he accept the ban, Greene would miss upcoming games against St Kilda and Collingwood.
The club has until 11am Tuesday to accept or challenge the suspension.
