With only four rounds left in the 2017 home and away season, we take a look at what lies ahead for the GIANTS as we push towards the finals.

Round 20 v Melbourne at UNSW Canberra Oval

With both sides looking to consolidate their top-eight positions on the AFL ladder, this clash looms as a must win for both sides.

The GIANTS will fancy their chances of claiming the points in the nation’s capital, having won seven of their last eight matches at UNSW Canberra Oval.

Round 21 v Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium

The GIANTS will feature in Friday night football for the third time this season as they take on last year’s premiers, the Bulldogs, at Etihad Stadium.

The two sides met earlier in the season in Canberra, with Jonny Patton kicking an incredible clutch goal deep in the last quarter to complete a GIANT comeback and a two-point win.

The GIANTS will be hoping to improve on their recent trips to Etihad Stadium this season, having lost to both St Kilda and Carlton in 2017 at the venue.

Round 22 v West Coast at Spotless Stadium

In the GIANTS’ last game at Spotless in the home and away season they will face an Eagles side pushing hard to seal a top-eight spot.

The two teams met in round 10 this season, in what proved to be a history making game for the GIANTS.

An undermanned GIANTS side broke through for their first win in the club’s history over the Eagles.

In a pulsating affair that saw the lead change eight times in the last quarter, two moments of magic from Toby Greene sealed the GIANTS an eight-point win.

Last season the two teams faced off at Spotless Stadium for the first time, with a Nic Naitanui goal in the dying seconds seeing the Eagles claim a thrilling one-point win.

Round 23 v Geelong at Simonds Stadium

The GIANTS will travel to Geelong to take on the Cats at Simonds Stadium in search of their first win at the venue in the final round of the season.

In the first of two clashes last season between the sides, the GIANTS claimed their maiden victory over the Cats with a 13-point win in round two at Manuka Oval.

Patrick Dangerfield and Joel Selwood helped Geelong exact revenge in round 11, claiming a hard fought 10-point win.

This season, the GIANTS and Geelong drew at Spotless Stadium in round 15 which was the club’s first draw in history.

With both sides currently in the top four, the clash will have a huge bearing on the GIANTS final ladder position.
