The GIANTS will be boosted by the return of forward Jon Patton and midfielder Adam Treloar when they play Geelong at Spotless Stadium this Saturday night.
The pair missed the trip to Perth with groin injuries but come into the team alongside number one draft pick Tom Boyd and experienced defender Josh Hunt.
It will be the first time Hunt plays against the Cats, the club he won premierships with in 2007 and 2011.
Going out of the side that played Fremantle is ruckman Rory Lobb (knee), defender Matt Buntine (calf) and midfielders Lachie Whitifeld (shoulder) and Jacob Townsend (omitted).
Head Coach Leon Cameron said he’s looking forward to having Boyd line up alongside Patton and Jeremy Cameron for just the third time this season.
“His NEAFL form has been really good and it’s great to see those three play together, along with Adam Tomlinson. The four of them will be playing up there this week so we look forward to seeing how that works.”
Cameron said Hunt would be a valuable addition to the side after a fortnight in the NEAFL.
“With Heath out it’s always good to have Josh in with that experience," Cameron said.
“Coming up against his old side, he’s got some great memories there. He’s a double premiership player so I think he’d be keen to play against his old team mates.
“They’re a top four side and it gives our young players a great opportunity to test themselves against a very good side.
“We played some good footy against them last year up here at Spotless for three quarters but they got us in the end in the last quarter so our guys are looking forward to taking it up to Geelong on Saturday night."
The GIANTS play Geelong on Saturday night at Spotless Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park at 7.40pm as part of Multicultural Round. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.
