Vice-captain Heath Shaw could return for the GIANTS against Richmond at the MCG this Saturday.
Shaw hasn’t played since Round 15 when he was concussed in a heavy collision against the Swans.
The 28-year old defender must complete the GIANTS main training session of the week on Wednesday to be available for selection.
Experienced defender Stephen Gilham is expected to return this weekend following a broken hand while fellow defenders Matt Buntine (calf) and midfielder Jake Barrett (quad) will face fitness tests.
Defender Curtly Hampton (shoulder), ruckman Rory Lobb (knee) and midfield rookie Sam Schulz (ribs) remain on the sidelines but are on track to return to the field this season.
