The GIANTS have seven picks at their disposal for the 2018 NAB AFL Draft.
With plenty happening – including the introduction of live pick trading – we’ve got all the key information you need in one location.
The new format
In 2018, the NAB AFL Draft will be split across two days, putting its opening round in the spotlight. The opening round will be held on Thursday night, before all the remaining rounds and the Rookie Draft are conducted on Friday.
The GIANTS’ picks
After a busy NAB Trade Period, the GIANTS enter the Draft with three first-round sections.
The GIANTS hold picks 9, 11, 19, 25, 52, 85 and 92, although these numbers might change with matching Academy and Father-Son bids, as well as live trading.
Live trading
Clubs now have the ability to trade picks during the Draft itself, including future (2019) picks.
For example, a club looking to move up the order might try to package up a couple of picks to strike a deal with another club, while others might make deals with their lower order picks to accumulate points to match Academy or Father-Son bids.
