Young forward Bobby Hill returns to the GIANTS’ side to take on Collingwood in Saturday afternoon’s Preliminary Final at the MCG.
The 19-year-old played seven games in a row after debuting at the MCG in round 17 before missing selection for the first Elimination Final.
Hill has kicked seven goals in 2019 including three on debut playing as a lively small forward.
The 19-year-old recently signed a contract extension to remain a GIANT until 2022.
GIANTS coach Leon Cameron said he’s looking forward to having the dynamic youngster return to the team on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s great to have Bobby back in the team,” he said.
“He’s trained really well over the last few weeks and continued to work hard to take up any opportunity that presented itself.
“He’s a real spark for us up forward and we’re really looking forward to the pressure he puts on the opposition in our forward line.”
Hill replaces Lachie Whitfield who underwent surgery on Wednesday morning to remove his appendix.
Versatile tall Lachie Keeffe comes into the team with the appeal of Toby Greene’s one-match suspension failing on Thursday evening.
“Lachie has played some great roles for us this year and he gets his opportunity once again,” Cameron said.
“He’s played back and he’s played forward and his versatility is certainly something we’re excited by.
“He gets his chance and no doubt he’ll want to take it with both hands.”
Cameron said despite a busy week, his side is fully focused on the task at hand.
"It’s obviously been an interesting week but our group has handled it really well and are looking forward to getting to the MCG and taking on Collingwood,” Cameron said.
“We know how tough the task is in front of us but we’re excited by the challenge and looking forward to Saturday afternoon.”
