Defender Emma Swanson has withdrawn from the GIANTS’ side to face Carlton at Blacktown International Sportspark on Saturday.
The marquee signing has failed a fitness test on a shoulder injury suffered in the opening minutes of the GIANTS’ round two clash against the Kangaroos and has been replaced in the side by emergency Phoebe Monahan.
Swanson was impressive in the GIANTS’ opening round clash with Brisbane, collecting an equal team-high 18 disposals but was forced from the field last Friday night at Drummoyne Oval after landing awkwardly on her left shoulder while rushing a behind.
Meanwhile, Monahan will line up for her ninth game in the orange jumper, having not missed a game since making her debut in round two, 2018.
Delma Gisu has been added as an emergency alongside Haneen Zrekia.
