The date for the 2019 NAB AFL Women’s Draft has been set with the GIANTS set to welcome a host of new players on Tuesday, October 22.
Held at the Victoria Pavilion at the Melbourne Showgrounds the draft will see the GIANTS confirm their final places for their squad ahead of the 2020 NAB AFL Women’s season.
With four new clubs – West Coast, St Kilda, Richmond and Gold Coast - joining an expanded competition in 2020, the draft will help the GIANTS strengthen their already strong and experienced squad.
The NAB AFLW Draft will remain state-based in 2019, meaning the GIANTS can only select from a pool of players that nominate New South Wales and ACT.
Nominations for the AFLW Draft opened on September 2 and close at 5pm (AEST) on Friday, September 20.
