Jeremy Cameron’s masterful display against Richmond on Saturday has been recognised, with the forward receiving top votes from the coaches and named in AFL.com.au’s Team of the Week.
The 26-year-old kicked a career-high 7.5 against the Tigers at GIANTS Stadium and collected 30 disposals in the 49-point win.
Cameron – who leads the Coleman Medal on 14 goals – received the maximum 10 votes from GIANTS coach Leon Cameron and Richmond coach Damien Hardwick in the Shadforth AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.
Teammate Lachie Whitfield was also recognised for his impressive display, receiving eight coaches votes and named on the half-back flank in the Team of the Week.
Whitfield racked up a game-high 42 disposals, took 12 marks, sent the ball inside 50 eight times and set up three goals.
Jeremy Finlayson’s five goals saw him earn four votes from the coaches, while Jacob Hopper (three votes), Stephen Coniglio (two votes) and Tim Taranto (two votes) were the GIANTS to also receive coaches votes.
Cameron’s perfect game sees him sit seventh in the Shadforth AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award leaderboard on 15 votes, while Lachie Whitfield (13 votes) is equal 10th and Stephen Coniglio (12 votes) sits in equal12th.
