Vice-captain Stephen Coniglio has been ruled out of the GIANTS’ Preliminary Final clash against Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday.
GIANTS General Manager of Football Wayne Campbell said:
“Stephen’s been a week-to-week prospect and while training really well, he won’t be ready for Saturday’s game.
“We’ve said all along that if he’s not 100 per cent ready then we won’t take any risks.
“He’ll continue to work really hard and is close to full training so should we progress beyond this week it’s certainly something we’ll assess again next week.”
Campbell confirmed there were no injuries out of the GIANTS’ three-point win over the Lions with everyone pulling up well ahead of Saturday’s clash.
“It was a hard and tough game, as you’d always expect with finals footy,” he said.
“The boys are really excited and just can’t wait to get to Melbourne to take on the 'Pies this weekend.”
The GIANTS take on Collingwood in the Preliminary Final at the MCG at 4:35pm on Saturday.
