The GIANTS have today broken their all time membership record, passing 25,000 members for the second consecutive year.
Currently sitting at 25,282 members, the membership tally is more than 3000 up on this same stage last year and 39 more than the 2018 total.
The milestone comes ahead of the GIANTS playing their first Premiership season match of the season in Canberra against Fremantle at UNSW Canberra Oval this Saturday.
GIANTS Chief Executive Officer David Matthews said today’s mark was a significant milestone in the club’s short history, with further growth ahead in the coming months.
“To achieve a membership record like this so early in the season is a wonderful achievement for a club in just our eighth season,” Mr Matthews said.
“Off the back of strong on-field performances and expanding our organisation to include an AFLW program and GIANTS Netball, we have developed strong connections with our local communities that have helped us grow quickly in one of the world’s most competitive sporting markets.
“We are proud of our loyal and passionate members and we look forward to this continuing to grow throughout 2019 as we head towards 30,000 members.”
