GIANTS Academy member James Peatling has been nominated for the NEAFL Rising Star Award after a strong performance in the GIANTS’ round seven win over Southport on Sunday.
The 18-year-old was busy in the GIANTS’ 48-point win at GIANTS Stadium, collecting 24 disposals, taking five marks and laying three tackles.
The Pennant Hills Demons product has had a solid start to his 2019 season, averaging 22 disposals, 4.8 marks and more than a goal per game in four NAB League games with the GIANTS Academy.
Peatling has also averaged 17 disposals in his three NEAFL games to date.
His performances have led to his selection as a top-aged player in the Allies squad for the 2019 U18 Championships beginning next month.
The Western Sydney local from Toongabbie started playing football in school and was invited to the GIANTS Academy at age 13, and for the past few months has been training with the GIANTS’ senior squad.
