Young midfielder Jono O'Rourke will make his AFL debut against the Sydney Swans on Sunday at the SCG.

The 19-year-old from Gisborne in Victoria, was the number two pick in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft and played for the Calder Cannons in the TAC Cup.

After an injury interrupted season including a broken jaw, O'Rourke has shown impressive form for the UWS GIANTS in the NEAFL in recent weeks to earn senior selection.

O'Rourke is the fifth GIANTS player to make his AFL debut this season, along with Lachie Whitfield, Lachie Plowman, Aidan Corr and Zac Williams.

The GIANTS have made six changes for the Sydney Derby, with Dom Tyson, Sam Darley and Shaun Edwards all named to play their first games of the season.

Tyson, the number three selection in the 2011 NAB AFL Draft, underwent knee surgery in the pre-season after a training mishap.

The GIANTS play the Sydney Swans as part of AFL Multicultural Round. The two teams are playing for the White Ribbon Cup, which aims to raise awareness of White Ribbon; Australia’s only national, male-led campaign to stop violence against women.
