Green eclipsed the previous best of 21 votes set by star teammate Josh Kelly back in 2017.
The impressive top five Brownlow finish comes following a brilliant season from Green, with the midfield beast finishing the 2024 season as the leading disposal getter across the entire competition, averaging 30.8 touches per game to go along with 6.2 clearances and four tackles.
The 23-year-old young gun polled in 12 of his 23 games this season, receiving seven best-on-ground performances from the umpires.
The fifth-place finish comes after Green was a noticeable absence from this year’s All-Australian squad of 44.
Superstar full forward Jesse Hogan also set a new career-high Brownlow tally on Monday following his maiden All-Australian campaign, polling 15 votes after his remarkable 69-goal season.
Amongst his 15 votes, Hogan was given top votes by the umpires on two occasions, with his dominant six goal hauls against the Kangaroos in round one and the Dockers in round 23 both garnering three votes.
Hogan was followed in the count by skipper Toby Greene who received 10 votes, with the star forward awarded best-on-ground honours on three occasions for his 41-goal season.
Close behind his captain was dashing defender Lachie Whitfield who polled nine votes following another stellar season which saw him finish the home and away season number one in the AFL for total disposals on his way to his second All-Australian blazer.
Young gun Finn Callaghan and vice-captain Josh Kelly rounded out the GIANTS’ top vote getters on six votes, with 21-year-old Callaghan polling his first Brownlow votes, including a best-on-ground honour against the Demons in round 20 after a starring 36-disposal game.
Eight other GIANTS polled in Monday’s count, with 14 GIANTS in total receiving votes as the club polled a total of 85 votes across the season.
