The GIANTS will enter Saturday’s must-win Semi-Final riding a huge wave of momentum, with the club setting a new membership record of more than 36,000 members.

Reaching an official tally of 36,629 members at the AFL’s 2024 season membership cut-off date, the feat is the first time the club has surpassed 36,000 members since their introduction to the AFL just 13 years ago.

Quickly becoming known for their exciting orange tsunami style of football, the GIANTS continue to break ground in Western Sydney and beyond as they forge a strong identity based on passion, diversity and inclusion, with a fun and exciting flair.

The GIANTS have now topped 30,000 members for the sixth straight season, a remarkable feat for the AFL’s youngest club.

The record membership tally comes as the GIANTS embark on yet another finals campaign, their seventh in the last nine seasons, with a do or die Semi-Final with the Lions at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday night next up for Adam Kingsley’s men.

GIANTS Chief Executive Officer David Matthews said the new membership record was an amazing achievement for the club.

“We have broken our all-time membership record once again - 36,629 in 2024.  It is a significant achievement and one that we are extremely proud of,” Mr. Matthews said.

“And 7,000 of those members are based in Canberra in a year where we sold out our three games at Manuka Oval.  Our loyal membership base continues to grow and in just our 13th season.”

“It is an incredibly exciting time at the club.  Our men’s team secured a top four finish and the double chance, and now we host a massive home Semi-Final against Brisbane Lions at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday night.  Our AFLW side have also started the season well with an excellent win against the Western Bulldogs and a strong performance against Richmond.”

“Whether you’ve been with us from the beginning as a foundation member, or are new this year, we say thankyou.  Our members are the lifeblood of our club and your support at ENGIE Stadium, Manuka Oval, and across the country means a great deal to our players, our partners, our staff and our broader supporter base.”

“It’s an exciting time to be part of the GIANTS and we look forward to our passionate members continuing to ride the wave with us.”

The GIANTS’ AFL side will clash with the Lions in a Semi-Final at ENGIE Stadium on Saturday at 7:30pm, while the AFLW side will take on the Suns at Manuka Oval on Sunday.
