The GIANTS are thrilled to announce that promising young talent Ryan Angwin has re-signed with the club for another two seasons.
Angwin’s signature will see him remain in orange and charcoal until at least the end of the 2026 AFL season.
Since making his debut in 2022, Angwin has showcased his silky-smooth skills through an array of roles, proving his versatility and value to the squad.
The 21-year-old - who joined the GIANTS as a promising young talent in 2020 - has demonstrated an ability to make an impact during critical moments of games.
After missing most of the 2022 season through a fracture in his leg, the first-round draft pick played 15 of his 20 games to date in the 2023 season, helping the orange tsunami surge to a preliminary final in last year’s impressive campaign under new coach Adam Kingsley.
Angwin has continued to develop strongly as both a wingman and a defender over the past seasons and the club is excited to see the player he can become as he remains a GIANTS for at least two more years.
GIANTS Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, said it was great to lock away another of the club’s talented youngsters.
“It’s fantastic to have re-signed Ryan for a further two years as he’s an extremely hard worker and someone that we know can play a valuable role for us now and in the future,” McCartney said.
“Ryan is a talented young player with loads of potential who we’ve seen contribute strongly at AFL level already and we’re eager to see what he can produce in the future.
“Ryan’s new deal adds to a growing list of our talented young players to recently re-commit to the GIANTS and we’re really excited about the future of the club.”
