The nominees for the 2024 AFL Players Association Most Valuable Player Awards have been revealed.

Voting for the AFLPA awards is a two-stage process, with players nominating their teammates in stage one before selecting from a competition-wide field in stage two.

The awards involve four different categories including AFLPA Most Valuable Player, Best First Year Player, Best Captain and Most Courageous Player.

Following selection in the 2024 All-Australian squad on Tuesday evening, Jesse Hogan and Lachie Whitfield are two of the three club nominees for the AFLPA MVP, alongside GIANTS midfield bull Tom Green.

GIANTS Academy graduate Harvey Thomas has been recognised for his stellar debut season, with the 19-year-old nominated for the Best First Year Player off the back of his 22 games in the home and away season.

For a second season in a row, key defender Jack Buckley has been nominated as the club’s Most Courageous player for his efforts in the GIANTS’ backline this season.

Meanwhile, Toby Greene has rightfully earnt his nomination in the Best Captain category for season 2024.

The AFLPA awards evening will be held on Thursday, August 29.
