Olympic gold medallist Chloe Dalton will miss the 2024 NAB AFLW season, after undergoing back surgery on Monday.

The dashing defender worked with the medical team to manage the ongoing injury conservatively but after consultation with a specialist, surgery was required and she has been ruled out for the season.

Young gun Daisy Walker was previously ruled out for the season following her ACL injury last month.

Walker has been moved to the inactive list and has been replaced by Jemma Ramsdale.

Crafty medium forward Brodee Mowbray will be unavailable for the early part of the season as she closes out her recovery from an ACL injury suffered last year.

The 21-year-old is tracking well and is participating in full, unrestricted team training.

The GIANTS open their season against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday at Manuka Oval in Canberra.
