One of the GIANTS longest serving players has penned a one-year contract extension with Pepa Randall committing to the orange and charcoal through to until at least the end of 2025.

A reliable and key defender from an athletics background, Randall joined the club in 2018 after an injury riddled season with the Melbourne Demons in the inaugural year of the competition.

Known for her relentless defence and unwavering commitment on the field, Randall has been a key player for the club in her seven seasons to date.

A dogged defender, often tasked with shutting down the opposition’s best key forwards Randall is often underrated despite being named in the All-Australian squad of 40 in 2018.

Her dynamic play and leadership have made her both a fan and team favourite and a crucial part of the team’s strategy and success.

The one-year contract extension will ensure Randall continues to bring her electrifying energy and leadership to the side for another year.

GIANTS AFLW coach Cam Bernasconi expressed his enthusiasm for the re-signing of Randall.

“We are stoked to have Pepa re-sign,” Bernasconi said.

“She’s a cornerstone of our team and her leadership and skill on and off the field are invaluable.

“Her presence and drive of our game plan and standards will be instrumental as we aim for to reach new heights in both the upcoming and future seasons.”

With a contract extension now behind her Randall will turn her attention to next week’s AFLW season opener, with the GIANTS set to host the Western Bulldogs at Manuka Oval in Canberra on Saturday, August 31.
