Finn Callaghan has again been recognised amongst the best young talent in the AFL, named in the AFLPA’s 22Under22 squad for the second consecutive season.
Introduced in 2013, the 22Under22 side aims to reward and recognise the best young talent in the AFL by comprising a squad of 40 rising stars before allowing the fans to vote for the best 22 players aged 22 and under across the 2024 AFL season.
While the 21-year-old has previously been selected in a 22Under22 squad, the versatile midfielder will be looking for his first selection in the final team this season after missing out through the fan vote in 2023.
Callaghan’s selection comes in the midst of a career-best season, spending more time on the ball to complement his outside game, averaging 22.7 disposals and 3.7 clearances a game in 2024.
Voting for the 22Under22 side is open from 2pm, August 8 and will close at 11:59pm, August 14 with the final team to be announced on August 21 via the AFL Players’ Association’s social media channels.
